This route is not officially defined anywhere (yet)
Purpose / Orientation
The Hospital Route is sometimes flown as a route in and of itself (usually just to provide a grade for VFR Nav), or as a means of transiting across the city of Pensacola to get to or from the beach. There is no set course rules to fly to or from the route, but if flying from Whiting to the route, it is common to use course rules TOWARD Site 8. If returning to Whiting from the route, you'd normally intercept 90 for a Hughes arrival.
Points
Use the Pensacola Training Chart (PTC) to find each point.
ATC procedures
Talking to Pensacola Approach, request "Hospital Fam, South to North" (or North to South). Also be ready to talk about intentions at the conclusion of the route (i.e. "Course Rules back to South Whiting", "Proceed westbound along the beach", etc).
